twoO'three

So, talking about the big 20 and 3. I started my day by sleeping in till 10am. Coincidently 4th of March falls on the first Sunday of the month, which is the only time the choirs have only one service to sing at. Waking up late? Great start already.

Everything at home was pretty much the same. No birthday decorations, no cake in the fridge, no presents present. Well nothing’s changed ever since high school I guess. Oh and especially no birthday wishes. I wasn’t that surprise to be honest, I’m used to being treated that way.

The clock was showing it’s 2.30pm, meaning it’s time for me to get ready for our extra practice for Easter week. 3pm and I was already at church. Only a few knew it was my birthday. I don’t blame them, bet they were too busy partying on Saturday night that they didn’t have the time to check their Facebook. So far nothing great happened. Except for the fact that I went out with H the night before and I got to celebrate it with him at midnight. <3 Oh, and N too forgot my birthday. She was always the first few to wish me at midnight but not this year. Turns out she was too busy that she forgot about it. *sad* To N, if you’re reading this…you owe me laksa for forgetting my birthday. Hmmmppff.

Anyways……practice finished around 5pm and we were all sitting in the choir vestry eating Mrs. P’s egg sandwich. While I was eating I noticed a few people acting a bit weird. Or maybe it was just me being paranoid. Well some were running around, S was standing really close next to me while eating her sandwich. It was so close that it felt weird. lol. Suddenly “happy birthday to you….happy birthday to Gracccceeeee/gegurll…” Honestly I knew this was going to happen. No choice but to act surprise..sorry guys. Open-mouthed smile I think I look fake unnatural. But I had fun and it was all great!

After Evensong I went home, then celebrated it at Sharing Planet. What’s good about dining on your birthday there is that you get 10% off from your bill. All you have to do is just show your IC or bring a birthday cake. Since I left my cake at home, and my picture in the IC is sooo ugleeyyyy….I gave the cashier my driving licence. Winking smile

After dinner we went to Station One for supper. And with that, I end my birthday post. See you when I turn 24!

my bag & I

The day before my birthday, I asked H if we could go out shopping. I wanted to get myself a new bag for my "birthday present". H was so patient that night, he helped me chose which bag, colour and material that would suit me. He is such a good bf. LOL! And so I bought a bag, after that I went to look for another bag. I actually plan to get two, one for casual and one big tote bag for office. Cause I'm kinda lazy already carrying two bags to work.
 T_T

I finally found the perfect bag, but I was still keeping my options open. Maybe other places has better designs or has the exact bag but with a lower price. So I left feeling hopeful that I'm going to find something better but sad cause I didn't get a second bag. -.-"

So today when I found out my parents were going out, I immediately told them that I would like to follow. I mean what's more great than having someone else driving you out to go shopping? :D
I found lots of bags just now, but none was equally good as in in terms of designs, size and material. And just fyi, I am the type of person who is very specific and if I wont settle for anything less than I expected or want. So here's what happened when I entered this particular shop earlier on.

Shopkeeper #1 : hi miss, down here we sell bags and upstairs we sell clothing.
Me : owh ok..I'm just looking around.
*le me browsing through the bags*
Me : *le me pointing at this bag* Do you have a bag with this kind of material but a big one?
Shopkeeper #2 : erm...one came in last 2 weeks but we sold it off already.
Me : owwwwhhh...well ok then.. *opens door*
Shopkeeper #1&2 : *touching the bag...feeling the material*
Me : *giggling*

Guess I'll have to go back to the shop again. =P

Year after year

It took me awhile to actually realize that I'm getting a year older soon. Come to think I am almost a year older, just missing a day. Anyways, I've been feeling all "cool" about this birthday thing, until I remembered what happened last year.

In my family birthdays are only fun when you're little, and also when you're actually the parents. Why? Because when we're little parents go all the way to celebrate our birthdays, but as soon as we reach secondary school, it's not so important after all to celebrate them. Don't even get me started on presents. There was never one. I remembered once where I had to ask them myself are we celebrating my birthday or not? I was really sad that year, I think I cried the whole day. As for being the parents, we're such good children so we bring our parents out for dinner or just a simple BBQ at home will do.

But everything changed after I went to Labuan Matriculation College (LMC). Roomates surprised me at midnight, gave me presents. Friends from church brought me to the cafe, gave me a special card and even sang for me at the cafe during one of our breaks. I was really touched by their effort because we all don't belong in the same class, and we all certainly don't have the same schedule and yet they made time for me. I remembered when they sang Happy Birthday to me accompanied by the guitar. Thanks guys. :')

As for Uni years, the celebration got greater. I remembered my 21st birthday was celebrated few days in a row. And on that particular year too, my mum bought a cake for me. I had to leave early from our celebration in Uni to celebrate with my family back home. And also that was the year H surprised me after my volleyball competition. That time I was still getting to know him and with him planning such celebration for my birthday, definitely gave him extra points besides being charming and all. :)

And on 2011 which is the year I turned 22, I was on my way back to Kuching from Bintulu. Yes, I celebrated my birthday with butt cramps for almost 10 hours. When I reached home no one even bothered to wish me Happy Birthday. But the thing that I will not forget are the friends that sang Happy Birthday to me at midnight at the hostel at Jabatan Pertanian Bintulu. Love and missing you girls much! And not forgetting H who called me all the way from Kuching at midnight to sing for me. Although I didn't celebrate it last year, but I was thankful for great friends and bf and also another year to live in this world.

May the 23rd be a blessed one as well.

Countdown: 6 more hours to go!

A sweet story told by my sister.

So my dad was eligible to receive the RM500 for the BR1M thing, and one of his plans to spend it was to splurge on my little niece (7 years old) and nephew (9 years old). Few days before my dad even got the money, they kept calling him asking when will Akik bring them out. So my dad told them Monday, because he just got the money. But these two little monkeys were very eager about the plan, so they asked their mum to call Akik again on Sunday afternoon. So my dad promised them that he and Inik will go pick them up that evening. Boy were they excited.

So the four of them went out and Akik bought everything that they wanted. When it was time for dinner, my dad suggested to go to KFC since it is their favourite place to eat. But surprisingly, my nephew turned down the offer. He told Akik that he went to KFC earlier that day and he's still full. So with that, Akik sent them back home.

When they reached home, my dad told my sister that they refused to go to KFC. So after my parents left, my sister asked my nephew, why didn't he wanna go to KFC for dinner. His answer was "Akik dah meli manyoh mai utai..ku meda duit Akik dah mimit dah...ngai ku.." (Akik bought so many things already..and his money were getting lesser..). I was so touched by his answer that it almost made me cry. :')

Akik, Inik and the two monkeys during our KL trip last year (:

Makes me wish I have a grandpa to do all those for me. I never get to meet my grandpa from mum's side, and grandpa on dad's side passed away when I was in kindergarten. ;(

Birthday Month

Why hello March, we meet again. *grins*
So many thing happened since the last time you were here. I laughed and cried throughout the year, but the most memorable event was of course graduation. After 3 and a half years I finally finished my studies and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Plant Resource Science and Management. As for Post-Graduate studies, give me a few more years and you'll definitely see me in Uni, going crazy all over again doing my thesis just like before.

Thank you God. For only by You I am able to finish it. :)

As for now I'm still working under CBG with the Department of Agriculture, somewhere I want to be in the future. Hopefully the boss sees my effort and take me in. I've been doing quite a lot of projects ever since I'm in the DOA. Too many to handle at times. =\

But in return, priceless experience. We fresh graduates don't really have the choice. With no experience, nobody would even want to hire you. Therefore start low, even if the pay is not what you wanted it to be. But I'm confident that I want to be in this industry, therefore I'm not giving up by switching lanes into other industry.

So March, please help me make my life a little bit better. A permanent job perhaps?
With that said, I have 2 more days till my birthday! :D

of hearts

Can't believe the last time I posted something here was a month ago. So many things happened during those time. One of it was of course V-Day.
How did you spend yours?

Mine was great! As long as I'm with H it's perfect. And on that particular week, I was actually away from home. Work calls and I was asked to stay at Kuching Park Hotel for a week. The room where I was staying had just been renovated and all I can say is that I'm very pleased with the work done.

H decided to surprise me for dinner on V-Day. I was trying to dig some informations from him but he was firm. Guess I'll just have to play along with him. Honestly I thought it was really sweet of him to go through the booking and finding a place sorta stuff.

So after work, he picked me up at the hotel and drove to The Hills. I was 90% sure that he made reservations at Fullhouse, but he said no. Bit disappointed actually. So we walked pass the restaurant, when suddenly he pulled me back and told me that we are going to Fullhouse. :)

The reason why he chose this place was because I told him before that I wanted to try out that place while we were passing it on the way to Station One. Looks like someone has been paying much attention to what I was talking about, because I do talk alot ya know?
LOL
